Most people at some point in their weight lifting routines will at notice their results sort of leveling out. There are a few techniques and exercises you can use to get over these plateaus so you can continue to increase your muscle mass and reach your fitness goals. Here are three ways to increase your results.
The fist technique is to use a few of your normal workouts but doing them when you are balancing yourself as well. These are known as unstable exercises where you have to focus on balancing and doing the workout at the same time. For example, doing pushups on an exercise ball will make you balance and really and intently focus on your exercise much more than if you were doing your normal pushups. This method is intended is to create more action from the central nervous system so that when you do your normal workouts, they will be even more beneficial.
The second technique to use is to try using more weight and fewer repetitions. When you use more weight, it will tear up your muscle much more than with smaller weights. When your body goes to repair that muscle it will add more in preparation for more weights, thus you will be able to lift more and see more gains. Try using your same weight lifting routine but just add more weight and do sets of 2 or 4 rather than 8 – 12.
The last technique you can use to help you gain more muscle so you can gain more muscle mass is to increase your weight lifting routines. Add more to what you are already doing by including more reps before and after you have already maxed out. Concentrate on really pushing your muscles as you lift. Add more sets and more repetitions to your workouts to really maximize your muscle potential. You may even want to give yourself less time between sets as well to really make this effective.
If you are stuck with your muscle gain, give these three tips a shot and you may be surprised at just how fast you start seeing some significant gains. Make sure that you are resting your muscle groups enough for them to fully recuperate before you work that some group out again. This rest is needed in order to really see the gains you want and it gives your muscles a chance to repair and renew the tissue you used up during your last workout.
