This is something people often seem to forget about, they decide Christmas is over and that its time to hit the gym and some lose weight, well that’s all well and good, but exactly how are you going to do that and more precisely, what do you want to do?
Obviously you have decided you want to do something otherwise you wouldn’t be taking action or reading this right now, but wanting something isn’t enough, you need to be more specific. You have to decide exactly what you want to achieve otherwise how are you going to get it?
Think about it, how are you going to motivate yourself to go to the gym and exercise all the time, eat the right food and get a good nights sleep, cut down on the drinking and everything else if you just want to just lose a little bit of weight, that is not going to motivate you.
But if you decide you want to drop a Jean size and get a flat stomach so you look better than you ever have before, do you think that might be a bit more motivating than just losing some weight, you damn right it will be.
So that is rule number one for achieving phenomenal fitness and a great body, develop a burning desire. Nothing is more important than this, if you want to look brilliant you can buy the latest piece of fitness equipment, get a new gym membership, buy all the top weightloss pills and supplements, diets books and other stuff, but all this is just delaying the inevitable, getting out there and doing something. A burning desire to succeed is the only true way to achieve your goal. Think about it, you don’t need fancy equipment or new trainers and jogging bottoms, what you need is the desire to never quit, find out what you want and fight for it, strive to achieve it, never let anything stop you and will do it.
When you master this and realise this, everything else will be a lot easier, when you know rain, wind or snow you will go out running, long, short or hard days at work, you will find time for the gym. Because you know, you’re not going to the gym for the fun of it, but because you want to be in the best shape of your life and nothing is going to stop you.
The next thing you need to do is put a plan together because failing to plan, is planning to fail! So you need to get a good nutrition plan that you know will get you results and make you feel good, not just some crappy diet focused on calories, but a nutrition plan that has worked before for other people in the same boat as you and that will work for you.
The other half of your plan is getting your exercise right, you need to make sure you are following an effective training schedule and doing it regularly, make sure what your are doing works and it gets you results, I suggest seeing a specialist such as a personal trainer, because like if you want to get your teeth sorted you go to a dentist, your car fixed a mechanic, just like if you want to get in shape, go to a Personal Trainer or fitness coach to help you.
